by James Mountford

The 10 subjects in Female were photographed over a 2 year period, during these sittings photographer James Mountford set out to identify a truth that is often lost in todays photoshopped society. In this case the female representation is offered in it's rawest narrative, one where no digital retouching has been performed and no subject chosen for it's conventional aesthetics.  Female is presented as an unbound folio reaffirming the fact that photographs are physical things, meant to be handled, collected or arranged.
